Vaccinium ovatum - Evergreen Huckleberry

Evergreen shrub to 3 ft tall by 4 feet wide, larger in ideal conditions. Waxy, lance-shaped leaves with white to pink bell-shaped flowers in spring, followed by dark blue edible berries in summer and fall. Slow growing. Good for a hedge or wildlife garden. Part shade. Moderate water. Prefers poor, acidic, fast draining soils. Consider mulching with pine needles or coffee grounds. Hardy to 10º F
