Stachys bullata - Wood Mint, California Hedge Nettle

Evergreen perennial to 2 ft. Fragrant green leaves and spikes of lavender pink flowers in spring and summer. Endemic to coastal California form SF to LA. Excellent hummingbird and butterfly plant. Part sun along the coast to shade inland. Appreciates some supplemental water. Tolerates a wide variety of soils, including clay soils and sandy soils. Hardy to at least 32º F.
