Evergreen perennial ground cover to 1.5 ft tall by 3 - 4 ft wide. Fast-growing hybrid of S. mellifera and S. sonomensis. Fragrant green leaves, with lavender flowers in summer. Flowers attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Seeds are a food source for quail and other native birds. Full sun along the coast to bright shade inland. Low water. Tolerates sand, clay, and alkaline soils. Hardy to 20º F.
