Peritoma arborea (syn. Cleome isomeris) - Bladderpod

Evergreen shrub to 4 ft. Pale green leaves with clusters of attractive yellow flowers nearly year round. Seed pods are inflated capsules, which look very cool and are edible. Fast growing, good choice for bank stabilization. Full sun. Low water. Tolerates seaside conditions, saline soils, and alkaline soils. Prefers fast draining soils. Hardy to 15º F.
