Mimulus puniceus (syn. Diplacus puniceus) - Red Monkey Flower

Evergreen perennial to 2 ft. Small yet abundant orange to red flowers in spring and summer attract hummingbirds. Nice long bloom season. Southern California subspecies of Mimulus aurantiacus, found on dry slopes in the coastal ranges from Los Angeles to San Diego county. Full sun along the coast to part shade inland. Low water, needs good drainage. Hardy to 20º F.
