Semi-evergreen bunchgrass to 2+ ft. Slightly larger with a more northerly distribution than M. imperfecta. Finely textured green leaves with delicate looking inflorescences rising above the foliage in the cool season. Semi-deciduous in summer. Looks nice in small groupings. Good under oaks. Great for erosion control on slopes. Full sun along the coast to part shade inland. Low water. Prefers fast draining soils. Hardy to 0º F.
