Evergreen shrub or small tree, fast-growing to 10 - 20 ft. Green taco-shaped leaves with red venation that smell like apples when crushed. Clusters of tiny white flowers in spring, followed by small berries in the fall which provide forage for song birds. Lush, dense foliage year-round. Great privacy screen. Full sun. Low water once established. Prefers faster draining soils. Hardy to 35º F.
