Lotus scoparius (syn. Acmispon glaber) - Deerweed

Semi-deciduous shrub to 3 - 5 ft. Forms an airy mound of green branches covered in bright yellow to orange flowers throughout spring and summer. Fast-growing nitrogen fixer, great for habitat restoration or getting a new native garden off the ground. Host plant for many native butterfly species, also great for bees. Full sun. Low water. Prefers faster draining soils. Hardy to 15°F.
