Lonicera subspicata - Southern Honeysuckle

Evergreen vining shrub to 8 ft tall by 20 ft wide. Oval green leaves with clusters of fragrant, yellow tubular flowers in spring and summer, followed by brilliant red and yellow berries in fall. Chaparral plant, usually climbs on other plants for support. Endemic to California. Beloved by hummingbirds and song birds. Full sun to part shade. Looks best with supplemental summer water. Tolerates clay soils. Hardy to 5º F.
