Deciduous perennial to 4 ft. Blue-green stems with lush yet ephemeral leaves during the rainy season, followed by brilliant red, orange, or yellow flowers in spring and summer. Very attractive to hummingbirds. Full sun along the coast to shade inland. Great for erosion control. Low water, appreciates occasional supplemental water in summer. Prefers fast-draining soils. Hardy to 25º F
