Evergreen perennial to 18” tall by 2 - 3 ft wide. Brilliant golden flowers with brown accents in spring. Rhizomes form a dense, weed-smothering mat. Full sun along the coast to bright shade inland. Divide and transplant in winter. Moderate water. Prefers heavier soils rich in organic matter. Hardy to 20º F
