Galvezia speciosa - Island Snapdragon

Evergreen perennial to 4+ ft. Bright green leaves on sprawling stems with clusters of brilliant red flowers in summer and fall attract hummingbirds. Makes a nice ground cover, also good in containers. Native to the Channel Islands. Full sun along the coast to shade inland. Drought tolerant, best with supplemental water. Tolerates a wide variety of soils, including sandy soils and clay soils. Hardy to 25º F.
