Fragaria vesca ssp. californica - Woodland Strawberry

Perennial ground cover to 4'' tall and spreading by stolons. Compact clumps of green leaves, with white flowers in spring followed by small and tasty red strawberries in summer. Great in containers or cascading over a retaining wall. Good under oaks. Part sun to shade. Low water, looks best with some supplemental water. Tolerates clay soils. Hardy to 10º F.
