Epilobium canum 'Chaparral Silver' - California Fuchsia

Semi-evergreen perennial to 2 ft tall by 3 ft wide. Silver leaves with brilliant red tubular flowers in summer and fall. Attracts hummingbirds. Semi-dormant in winter, prune to ground to encourage lush new growth in spring. Full sun along the coast to part shade inland. Low water. Looks best with supplemental water in summer, otherwise it goes stress-deciduous. Prefers fast-draining soils, tolerates clay and serpentine soils. Hardy to 15º F
