Stachys albens - White Hedge Nettle

Herbaceous perennial to 4 ft tall. Fragrant, fuzzy green leaves and beautiful spikes of white flowers with purplish veins in summer. Endemic to California. Excellent hummingbird and butterfly plant. May go summer dormant. Part sun along the coast to shade inland. Appreciates some supplemental water. Tolerates a wide variety of soils, including clay soils and sandy soils. Hardy to at least 32º F.
