Chilopsis linearis - Desert Willow

Deciduous shrub or small tree to 10-20 ft. Sinuous silvery branches are exposed in winter, covered in narrow green leaves from spring through fall. Fragrant pink flowers in summer attract hummingbirds. Native to desert washes in the Mojave and Colorado deserts. Full to part sun. Low to moderate water. Prefers sandy soils, tolerates clay and alkaline soils. Hardy to 10º F.
