Evergreen shrub or small tree, fast growing to 15 ft. Hybrid of C. arboreus and C. griseus. Glossy green leaves. Makes a good visual screen or a nice small tree. Bears beautiful lavender blooms in spring. Attracts insect pollinators and song birds. Tolerates a wide range of soil types, from sandy to clay. Full to part sun. Low water. More “garden tolerant” than most Ceanothus. Hardy to 10° F.
