Ceanothus 'Dark Star' - California Lilac

Evergreen shrub to 6 ft tall by 8 ft wide. Finely textured dark green leaves with deep blue flowers in spring; an exceptionally beautiful native lilac. Highly attractive to bees and butterflies; also provides forage and shelter to song birds and quail. Neat, compact form. Great as a visual screen. Full to part sun. No summer water once established. Tolerates sandy to clay soils; prefers poor, fast draining soils. Hardy to 15º F.
