Ceanothus hearstiorum - San Simeon Ceanothus, Hearst's Buckbrush

Evergreen ground cover to 6" tall by 6 - 8 ft wide. Finely textured angular green leaves and clusters of lavender blue flowers in spring. Very pretty ground-hugging plant. Great under oaks and other established trees. Full sun along the coast to bright shade inland. Low water along the coast, best with some supplemental summer water inland. Loves clay soils. Hardy to 20º F
