Ceanothus arboreus - Island Ceanothus

Upright evergreen shrub or small tree, fast growing to 20’ tall by 10’ wide. Attractive large, dark-green leaves paired with brilliant clusters of blue flowers winter into spring make this a handsome ornamental specimen. One of the best lilacs for use as a patio tree or privacy hedge. Full sun along the coast to part sun inland. Low water, avoid summer water once established. Prefers fast-draining soils, tolerates clay soils. Hardy to 15° F.
