Carex spissa - San Diego Sedge

Evergreen grass-like sedge to 2 - 3 ft. Forms a clump of stiff grey-green leaves. Native to moist areas in SoCal. Great for a rain garden or irrigated area. Tolerates foot traffic. Full sun along the coast to part sun inland. Regular to moderate water. Tolerates many soil types, including clay and alkaline soils. Hardy to at least 10º F.
