Archtostaphylos hookeri ‘Wayside’ - Wayside Manzanita

Evergreen shrub or large scale ground cover to 2 - 3 ft tall by 6 - 8 ft wide. Low mounding form with green leaves on maroon branches. Pale pink flowers in winter. Attracts hummingbirds, butterflies, and song birds. Full sun along the coast to bright shade inland. Low to moderate water, appreciates some supplemental water. Tolerates many soil types, including clay soils. Prefers faster drainage. Hardy to 20º F.
