Evergreen rosette of spiny grey leaves to 2 - 3 ft. Forms small colonies over time. Each rosette is monocarpic, sending up a 10 ft tall inflorescence that blushes dark pink before opening into a showy display of yellow flowers. Great in containers. Full sun along the coast to bright shade inland. Low water, best with monthly water in summer. Prefers fast draining soils. Hardy to 25º F
